The tournament will be held mainly to help grow the sport of curling in Russia and, among the superstars I've already mentioned, will feature a few local Russian teams. Since this is only a demonstration event, no World Curling Tour points are going to be handed out to any teams. The players just get a unique opportunity for some great competition during the summer. Murdoch spoke with Scottish Curler Magazine and shared his thoughts on this very unusual event. "We are all looking forward to [it]," he told the magazine. "The ice could be interesting though, being in a shopping centre and it being the end of July." And it will indeed be interesting. So stayed tuned to Curling Scoops this summer as we will be bringing you the greatest coverage of this unique event and all your other curling updates. © Copyright 2008, Scoops Media.
