And the organizers of the event are starting to turn up the heat on their organizing effort by officially opening the event's head office. Wednesday, at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, was the ribbon cutting ceremony took place. The ceremony officially opened the heart of the organizing effort, which is expected to be a great help to organizers of the event. Up until now, the organization has been little more than phone numbers and email addresses. But with a physical building to call headquarters, it should help the planning go ahead smoothly in addition to increasing awareness of the upcoming women's championship. It's tough to use a phone number or an email to promote an event, but when people see the office every day during their daily commutes, it's tough to ignore. The planning stage of the event is right on track, and the organizing committee has already surpassed it's target number of volunteers. By the first of June, five hundred and fifteen people had put their names down to volunteer, slightly above the five hundred volunteers that were projected. This goal of five hundred volunteers wasn't expected to have been reached until some time in September, but event organizers are thrilled to have already met that number.
