The Ferbey/Middaugh matchup started with a bang in the first.
As Ferbey shows his touch early with two clutch draws in an attempt to steal. Facing two Ferbey stones, Middaugh executes an amazing angled double takeout, rolling one stone out the back of the house and the other through a tiny port. He sticks the shooter to settle for one in the first end, putting an end to arguably one of the best ends of curling I've seen to start a match.
Middaugh looked to close out Ferbey early. In the fourth and lying one, Middaugh had to make a tough hit and stick for three points and nailed it to pick up a huge three points.
Not to be outdone, the Ferbey team saved their heroics for late in the game and picked up three of their own in the seventh end to close out Wayne Middaugh's good week by a score of 7-5.
Randy Ferbey seemed to have his eye on MIddaugh's strategy, which contributed to Ferbey's moving on.
"Wayne likes to play aggressive, likes going for that extra point. " said Ferbey after the match.
"We got a break when they didn't quite make their shots when they needed."
