Olympic curling gold medalist Jamie Korab has decided to step out of the political arena. After just a few weeks in the race to represent the Liberal party in a byelection, Korab withdrew his nomination, allowing Sam Slade to win by acclamation.
Korab, the off-again-on-again lead for Brad Gushue, initially sought the nomination to represent the Newfoundland Liberal party in his home riding of Carbonear-Harbour Grace.
Hopefully this will mean we’ll see more of Korab on the ice, instead of the legislature.
