Canada and the United States battled it out today in the 3 vs. 4 Page Playoff game at the 2013 World Women’s Curling Championship. It was a tight game, and Canada’s Rachel Homan came out on top. The Canadians now advance to the semi-final game.
The Americans were able to keep the game close in the early ends. By the fifth end break, Canada held a slim 1-point margin.
In the 6th end, however, Rachel Homan and her Canadian squad blew the game open. The grabbed two points to extend their lead to three, forcing Team USA’s Erika Brown to play catch-up.
After trading single points in the 7th and 8th, Canada enjoyed a comfortable 7-4 lead in the ninth end. With so few ends remaining, the Americans simply ran out of time to mount a comeback. Canada sailed ahead with relative ease, winning 7-6
Canada will now advance to the semi-final match where they’ll face Scotland, who lost to Sweden in the 1 vs. 2 page playoff game.
